Modern Day Religion is Flawed.

There's the constant battle between good and bad, and over time I have arrived at a very nerve-racking assertion that there's nothing good or bad and the terms good and bad are both subjective. There's no way we can talk about the concept of Good and Bad without delving into religion and faith and spirituality. As much as it is a tricky and complex topic, it's important we try to understand how it affects our idea of good and bad, right and wrong, light and darkness From all indications and historic findings, our Religious leaders, all ranging from those who introduced the Christian faith, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam and as many as we can think of had to a very large extent the same goals and objectives, and it was to bring us to a place of human awakening and transformation of consciousness. This was the common denominator these people had, they knew that our "normal " state of mind as humans are flawed by fundamental imperfections, and as much as this was bad news, they, after so much soul searching came up with Great Insight into how we could achieve a radical transformation of consciousness. This whole process and school of thought had different names proposed by these men, it could be called Enlightenment, Liberation, Awakening, The end of Suffering and also Salvation.

The sad Truth about all this was that the world was far from ready for "Them". Who would want to be called out for his/her true nature? The world isn't as different as it was back then, people get offended when their wrongs are placed in front of them. They are more concerned about how they'd be perceived by society rather than focusing on the solutions. Inevitably these leaders were misunderstood by their contemporaries (Misunderstood might not be the right word here because I believe these contemporaries were ones who wanted to save face and keep with the "Normal" they were accustomed to.)

Well, their teachings, although both simple and concise became misinterpreted and misunderstood, and even in some cases as they were recorded in writings by their disciples. Over the centuries, a whole lot of things were added that had absolutely nothing to do with the original teachings.

These teachings That were meant to point people to the way beyond the dysfunction of the human mind, the way out of collective insanity, the way out of mental bondage, these teachings were distorted and became themselves part of the insanity.

I for one believe modern religion is absolutely flawed and it negates the true purpose of religion which is unifying and bringing an end to violence and hatred. Religion has become so diverse to a large extent and it has outed its true purpose thus causing strife between people as well as between different religions and even within the same religion.

Modern Day Religion has simply become ideologies and belief systems that people can identify with and use to enhance their false sense of self. Through Religion, they can make themselves "Right " and "Good" and make others "Wrong " and "Bad " and thus define their identity through their foes, who they call "Unbelievers ", "Wrong believers ", "Blasphemers" and so In doing all this, they see themselves justified in killing.

An important takeaway I think we should ponder upon is this; How Spiritual you are has nothing to do with what you believe, but everything to do with your state of consciousness.

The concept of Good and Bad goes further than this, albeit, I'll delve into details as well as real life examples of how it's subjective and also about how morality has aesthetic standards.
